Support Damit Para kay Ploning

Many Filipinos were happy to know that there’s a bundle of hope for the nomination of ‘Ploning’ in the Oscars 2009 under the Foreign Language Film Category.

Kainlan naging off the record ang isang dasal at kainlan din naging joke ito? Para sa mga taong may paniniwala sa Maykapal hindi ito biro dahil lalo na sa mga taong nasa posisyon ang i-mock ang usapin ukol sa pananampalataya ay hindi dapat isinasawalang bahala. Para saan pa ang pagiging isang miyembro ng pamahalaan kung pati ang dalangin ay ginagawang biro sa harap ng publiko, nakakawalang respeto.


Pero maliban dito ang pinaka-climax ng insidenteng ito ay walang iba kundi ang reaksyon ni President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, yes "Oh My God" talaga Madam President, sino ba ang mag aakala na isa ito sa mga dalangin ng mga cabinet member ninyo at iyon ay palawigin ang inyong termino, pero sa inyo madam Cha-Cha rin ba ang dalangin ninyo gabi gabi?

Sana naman huwag muna hindi pa naman sagot ang Cha-Cha sa problema ng bayan. Ang sagot ay ang kastiguhin ang mga nagnanakaw sa bayan, at ang matibay na kalutasan sa kahirapan ng bayan.

45 Banasi Farmers Starts 444-kilometer Sumilao Walk

To Demand PGMA to Give them back their land and to Call for the Immediate Passage of CARPER Bill

After a short program attended by various support groups, forty-five farmers (12 women, 33 men) from Banasi Agrarian Reform Farmer Beneficiary Association (BARFBA) started their 444-kilometer walk to Malacanang at 9 a.m. today, November 17, 2008, from Sitio Banasi, Barangay Pawili in Bula, Camarines Sur.

They are marching to Malacanang to demand from the President the reversal of the Office of the President's April 2008 decision signed by Secretary Ermita. The decision orders the Department of Agrarian Reform to cancel in favor of the previous landowners, Fajardo-Imperial, the Certificate of Landownership Award (CLOA) covering 123 hectares awarded to 57 Banasi farmers eleven years ago.

Secretary Ermita found the land to be a pasture land and therefore can be converted even though the DAR and the land Bank officials who did an ocular investigation were saying otherwise. The land is predominantly planted to sugarcane, rice and corn and therefore agricultural and subject to agrarian reform.

"I just want to leave my 1.7-hectare land as inheritance to my one hundred grandchildren" , said Poblen Clavero, 82, the oldest among the marchers.

Jason, Remar, and Aaron, 18, the youngest among the 45 marchers wish to finish their education. But this has almost become impossible with the sad news.

When they reached Manila , the marchers will join a bigger mobilization called National Land Pilgrimage for Equity and Social Justice to call for the immediate passage of the CARP Extension and Reforms (CARPER) Bill now pending in both Houses of Congress. Among these reforms are the substantial increase in funding to ensure 2 milllion hectares of land get awarded to 1.4 million farmers and the assurance that land titles already given to farmers cannot anymore be cancelled after a one-year time prescription, thus, ensuring the Banasi case would not happen again.

The Banasi farmers will reach Naga City by noon. The Department of Agrarian Reform will host their lunch while the Office of Mayor Jessie Robredo, their dinner. The march is being coordinated by PAKISAMA, a national confederation of peasants with presence in most regions, and provided legal and campaign support by Saligan and ARNow! The leader of the Sumilao farmers, Rene Penas, has become their trainer and is currently assisting the marching farmers. AKKAPKA's Jean Llorin reminded the farmers on the principles and methods of active non-violence to guide their long walk for land and social justice.

SHERYN REGIS: A Singer, A Performer and The Powerbelter!

Sheryn Regis has gone a long way after joining the prestigious Star in a Million singing competition in ABS-CBN wherein she ended up 1st runner up.

Sheryn was a crowd favorite and was a consistent top scorer in the said competition. In fact, she won the Texter’s Choice Award proving that she’s capable of charming her audience. Sheryn was also dubbed as the ‘Powerbelter’ for her outstanding and powerful voice that leaves the audience awe-struck every time she starts to hit those high notes.

She has earned numerous awards ever since she entered the music scene. The most recent was when she was declared to be the Most Promising Female Performer in the Golden Elephant Awards, an award giving body based in Thailand that recognizes excellence in the field of performing arts across the regions. The awarding will be held in December.

Her songs are engraved in the heart of each Filipino. Her platinum and gold awards are proofs that the public has learned to love her music. Sheryn has sung several hits like, Kailan Kaya, Come On In Out Of The Rain, Maybe and Try It On My Own.

Sheryn did not keep herself tied in music alone. She was also able to enter the world of acting. Her very first acting stint was in ABS-CBN’s Love Spell which positively surprised the televiewers. And now, she is also part of the well-watched teleserye I ? Betty La Fea as she plays the role of one of the secretaries in Eco Moda.

Apart from her acting stints, she was still able to release a new album entitled “Starting Over Again” with the same carrier single. It includes other tracks such as "It Must Have Been Love" and "Always", which are doing well in the airwaves today.

Sheryn has also been in demand abroad because TFC subscribers constantly request her to do a show which makes her one of the busiest singers in the country.

Sheryn continues to captivate the hearts of the audience. She stands firm on the ground but persists on reaching the top. Indeed, the ‘Powerbelter’ belts out more power as she remains to be one of the finest singers/performers in our country.

MMDA: Office of the President?

Naprapraning na ba ako?

Hindi ko maalala kung noong mga naunang taong nagbyabyahe ako sa kahabaan ng EDSA at nakikita ko ang mga vehicles at offices ng Metro Manila Development Authority kung may sign iyon ng "Office of the President".

Praning na nga ako siguro dahil sa kahabaan ng EDSA pati sa lugar namin sa Malabon ay bayaning bayani at namamayani ang mga Bayani Posters, Bayani Pictures, Bayani Stickers na may pangalan at mukha ni Bayani Fernando na either nakadikit sa blue at pink na bakod, sa blue at pink na poste, at blue at pink na bahay na libreng pintura na project ng blue and pink movement, also known as MMDA.

Bakit ako naprapraning kasi bago pa mag-declare sa pagtakbo si J(ejomar Binay)OBAMA noong nakaraang linggo na tatakbo siya sa pagkapresidente sa bansa ay obvious naman na si Bayani Fernando Jr. sa pagtakbo niya sa pagka-presidente ng bansa kaya kung ikaw ay isang psych major masasabi mong hinahanda na ang mindset ng taong araw araw dumadadaan sa EDSA para tumanim na sa isipan ng mga botante sa 2010 na si Bayani ay isa sa mga kandidato, kaya nga pati isang simpleng banner na nag aanunsyo ng proyekto ng MMDA ay kailangan pang mag mukha niyang kasama, sa madaling salita early promotion ng sarili niya at kasama na rin ito sa pagkasali at pagkapanalo niya sa Celebrity Duets Season 2 ng GMA 7.

Praning na kung praning ang akin lang ang ibang siguradong tatakbo na sa 2010 ay obvious na sa mga ginagawa nila ngayon at least kahit paano may ideya na tayo kung sino sino ang mga tatakbo, pero ang mas nakakatakot ay iyong mga tahimik at biglang tumahimik. Bakit kaya naghahanda ba sila o nakikiramdam pa sila kung ano kahihinatnan ng natitirang ilang taon ni President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Himala won as the CNN Asia Pacific Screen Awards Viewers Choice Award for Best Asia-Pacific Film of all Time

May Himala at ito ay dapat ipagdiwang ng Pilipinas lalo na ng Industriya ng Pelikula sa bansa na kung saan nagwagi ang Himala sa 2008 CNN Asia Pacific Screen Awards Viewers Choice Award for Best Asia-Pacific Film of all Time na ginampanan ni Nora Aunor noong 19892 sa panulat ni Ricky Lee at direksyon ni Ishmael Bernal.

Ang Himala o Miracle (international title) ay nagmula sa isang pangyayari na naganap noong 1976. Ito ay kwento ng isang babaeng nagngangalang Elsa na taga Cupang at nag-claim na nakikita niya ang Birhen Maria at nakakapagpagaling siya, pero sa kabila nito ay ginawang negosyo ng ilang kamag anak at kaibigan ni Elsa ang insedenteng ito para pagkakitaan ng pera mula sa abuloy hanggang sa mga binasbasang mga tubig, langis at kandila. Lahat ay naniwala maliban kay Orlie isang filmmaker na kung saan sinundan niya at inimbetigahan si Elsa at ang mga kasama niya hanggang dumating ang hindi sa inaasang na-rape si Elsa at ang kaibigan nitong si Chayong, lahat ay nakunan ni Orlie ngunit hindi niya nilabas ito sa publiko. Si Chayong ay nagpakamatay dahil sa nangyari maliban kay Elsa na ipinagbuntis niya ang bunga ng rape at pinaniwalaan itong Immaculate Conception ng mga tagasuporta niya. Pero sa huli inamin ni Elsa na walang himalang nagaganap sa kanya at walang birheng nagpapakita sa kanya at ang lahat ay pawang gawa gawa lang niya at mula sa napakaraming taong nakikinig sa kanya ay may bumaril sa kanya na nagdulot na rin sa pagkamatay niya habang kasama niya ang kanyang ina patungong ospital.

At nagkaroon naman ng mga nominasyon sa mga international award tulad ng Berlin International Film Festival (1983), Chicago International Film Festival (1983), at ngayong November 11, 2008 tinanghal ang Himala bilang CNN Asia Pacific Screen Awards Viewers Choice Award for Best Asia-Pacific Film of all Time.

Binay running for 2010 Philippine Election?

If USA has Obama, Binay ba ang sa Pilipinas?

Tatakbo sa 2010, ito ang anunsyo ni Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay sa kanyang ika-66 Birthday Celebration na ginanap sa Makati City Hall, na kung saan naglingkod si Binay sa loob ng 19 years bilang mayor ng Makati at matatapos ang kanyang termino sa 2010.

Ayon sa kanya kung tatakbo ang dating pangulong Erap Estrada ay tatakbo mag-gigive way siya. Pero siniguro niya na tatakbo siya kahit may mga ibang oposisyon ang kakandidato para sa pagkapangulo.

Ang bottom line dito nangangamoy eleksyon na naman at marami na naman ang nag nanais tumakbo para sa mga posisyon ang sa akin lang maging makilatis tayo sa mga iboboto natin. Kung ikukumpara natin ang eleksyon sa USA, malayo pa rin tayo at wala sa kalingkingan ng mga policy nila sa pagkandidato, eleksyon, kampanya at pagboto. Tulad nga ng sinabi sa Ibon Foundation Lecture last November 7, kung nais nating magkaroon ng kagaya sa USA na American Dream ay magkaroon tayo ng pagkilatis sa mga iuupo natin sa posisyon. Ang sa akin lang sana magkaroon tayo ng policy para sa mga kakandidato at yun ay i-limit lang ang dami ng tatakbo sa pagkapangulo, at ang tao ang magdedecide kung sino ang tatakbo sa mga partido tulad ng sa USA Republican at Democrat. Panaginip nga lang ang ideya na ito pero malay natin magkaroon ng unti unting pagbabago sa sistema ng pulitika at eleksyon sa bansa at hindi yung parang palengke na ang daming paninda at magulo.

Barack Obama is the new President of the United States of America!

He is the first black president of the United States of America, but despite of his color he proves that being minority because of his color and race doesn't deprives him to get the majority of the American vote and the support of the non-American who follows him from the time he starts to campaign.

But after winning and assume his position what will Obama's policy as the newly elected president. Will he retain some of Bush's policy or alters some? What will be Obama's concrete solution to the economic crisis of USA that affects other countries. Being the first African American president what other policies will he create to resolve the malign status of racial discrimination within his country and other countries that involves in such discrimination like that.

Barack Obama is not just a president of the his country, but he take the most powerful position in the world. What will his policies be, from health, foreign relations and others. From this day people is now looking at him as the sign of hope as he unfolds history. As Obama tag line is "YES WE CAN" and we believe in that.

Yammer is not that YUM YUM for Micro-blogging Fanatics

In the height of Micro-blogging such as Plurk and Twitter. A new platform was created and intends to cater companies and work station. In short kung fan ka pagdating sa social networking where you are free to post anything like links of your latest post on your blog, dished you friends, post your negative reaction or simply make anyone notice you because you are have attention deficit disorder and you wanted to be on the limelight, well Yammer is not for you. Yammer was created as I mention it a tool for making companies ang organizations more productive through the exchange of one line answers, questions or status like "XXX is working on the draft presentation" or "Ned and Ardy Roberto releases marketing business solutions book" Yammer is more on a specific social network like an exclusive company like yahoo groups.

It's platform is like twitter, with a vertical timeline and the message field is located above the timeline. while on the right section where you can see the short profile, short list of followers and groups.

Yammer was founded by former executives and early employees of PayPal, eGroups, eBay, and Tribe. It is backed by venture capital firms Founders Fund and Charles River Ventures. And the website is for free like twitter and plurk but if the a company wishes to get a certain group's admin tool the price would be available for negotiation.

As for social networking freak like me, Yammer as micro-blogging tool may not cater most of the internet savvy people, but it may actually help in a company/work perspective to lessen email bandwith, walking from table to table asking updates, and ear ringing phone calls, instead being update is just a click on a refresh button right a way.
