On December 24, abs-cbnNEWS.com uploaded a story, "ABS-CBN bags rights for local 'Twilight' remake". The source of the story was a report by entertainment writer Edgar Cruz posted on yehey.com.

The duty editor who uploaded the story failed to check with ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. whether the story was correct and accurate.

ABS-CBN Corp. Communications head Bong Osorio has since denied that the company will do a local remake of the movie, Twilight.

Si Rizal para sa akin...

Para sa isang kagaya kong hindi bihasa pagdating sa usapin ng kasaysayan, nakilala ko si Jose P. Rizal sa apat na bagay na siyang naging parte ng buhay ko at nating lahat. Si Rizal ay araw araw natin nakikita sa bulsa at wallet ng bawat isa, sa PISO. Parte na ng buhay natin ang minsan ay namasyal tayo sa Luneta at nakita natin ang monumento ni Jose Rizal. Hindi mawawala sa mga requirements natin noong nag aaral pa tayo na kailangan magdala ng mga pictures ng mga bayani at isa sa laging kumukumpleto ng collection natin ay ang post card ni Rizal. At ang kulang ang curiculum natin sa paaralan kung hindi natin kinuha ang subject na Filipino na parte ang Noli Me Tangere at El Filibusterismo sa mga dapat nating pag-aralan lalo na ang pag-aaral ng mismong buhay ni Rizal bilang isa sa mga basic units natin sa kolehiyo.

Marahil tatanungin nyo ako kung anong connect nito sa mas malaking celebration natin ng ika-112 Rizal Day ngayong December 30. Simple lang at ito ay ang pagiging parte ni Rizal sa buhay ng bawat isa sa atin, Ang Piso o peso ang sumisimbolo sa currency ng pera ng bansa na kung saan isa sa mga basehan ng Kalayaan ng isang bansa. Ang monumento ni Rizal sa Luneta, na siyang nagpapahiwatig na doon sa lugar na yun 112 years ang nakakalipas ay may isang tao, kasama nila Andres Bonifacio at iba pang mga bayaning naglakas ng loob na lumaban at mamatay para sa kalayaan ng bayan. Ang mga larawan o post card na nagpapaalaala na tulad ni Rizal ang pagpapahalaga sa pag-aaral. At ang huli ang mga nobelang iniwan niya kasama ang mga iba pang mga tula, kwento at sanaysay na kung saan ibinahagi niya ang buhay noon na maaaring nagyayari pa rin sa panahon ngayon ang pamamaraan niya sa pagmulat ng tayo na kahit 112 years na syang wala hindi pa rin natatapos ang pakikipaglaban niya kasama ang mga iba pang bayani iba't ibang uri ng paninikil sa kalayaan ng bayan at indibidwal na Filipino.

Dahil iba iba man ang titulo ni Rizal ang tanging titulong maiintindihan ng lahat pati ng mga taga ibang bansa ay siya ay isang Filipino, may pagmamalasakit, pagmamahal sa bayan at namatay para sa bayan at sa kapwa niyang Filipino. Hari nawa hindi lang sa monumento, sa piso, sa larawan at mga nobela alalahanin natin si Rizal bagkos alalahanin siya sa bawat kapwang nakakasalamuha natin kasama ang mga bayani at mga ilang hindi napangalanan pang namatay para sa bayan at mga henerasyong darating pa dahil ang laban nila ay hindi natapos noong 1898 kundi patuloy pa rin at tuloy tuloy pa rin. Isang malaya at punung puno na pagmamahal sa bayan sa ika 112 Araw ni Rizal!

ABS-CBN Official Statement on the remake of Twilight; with ABS-CBNNews.com clarification

After posting the article about the clamor on the remake of Twilight by ABS-CBN (local title Takipsilim) some of the bloggers asked me, bakit daw nakapost sa ABS-CBNnews ang article the other day ABS-CBN bought the rights and after a day the said article was gone. Sharing you the official statement of ABS-CBN made by Bong Osorio, head of the Corporate Communication and Relations of ABS-CBN with the clarification of ABS-CBNnews.com to end up the clamor and the issue of playing the emotions of the fans. (As posted on ABS-CBNnews.com's Entertainment Section)

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation said there is no truth to the Internet buzz about the company doing a local version of the hit movie/novel "Twilight".

"There is no truth to the Web reports, particularly in the Perez Hilton blogsite, that ABS-CBN is doing a local adaptation of "Twilight". ABS-CBN will be the first to announce if it is, in fact doing so," according to ABS-CBN Corporate Communications' Bong Osorio.

Last week, abs-cbnNEWs.com did a story on an Internet report about the adaptation. The prospect of a local adaptation of "Twilight" has caused a lot of discussion, sometimes heated, on various Internet discussion fora.

And Kane, a colleague texted me informing to post Sir Bong's statement just this afternoon, honestly I was doubtful when I saw his name on my inbox akala ko papagalitan ako after posting my my opinion on the issue, but like what I said everything I posted on my blog either releases, narcissistic pictures of mine along with my favorite co-workers and most opinions cross-posted on FilipinoVioces.com, InfluentialBloggers.net and Philippine Election 2010 where all my opinions and my contribution to the world wide web and help to them as part of the promotion with my own pagkukusa. Well the bottom line is may smiley naman ang text and he saw my full name along with my statement on the web and good thing its not opposite on what is really happening. Pero kinabahan pa rin ako kasi I'm sure ABS-CBN nor GMA and other stations here in the country has lots of creative juices that will entertain their audience, in the case of franchise my opinion is Pinoys have their own twist of the show which it can be better than the other country and more entertaining promise. :)

2009: STAR CINEMA OPENS WITH A BANG WITH LOVE ME AGAIN!

Meanwhile, Migo was experiencing his own wave of reality. Bukidnon is not what it used to be. And fighting to keep a ranch alive and working is something he cannot do without enough
experience. Despite his enthusiasm and hard work, his investments crumble slowly until he is left with nothing but a humbling realization—there is money in Australia, but his dreams shouldn’t really end there. Migo decides to give the land down under a try. With fierce hopes of earning back what he lost, he flies to Australia, to the land where his beloved Arah went when she left him for her dreams.

Suddenly, Migo’s presence at the ranch is making Arah suspicious. It’s been years—why is he suddenly there? But destiny has other plans for the two. By a simple twist of fate, the two are thrown together on an errand. The close proximity forces the two to confront their past. And undeniably, their feelings for each other resurface.

ABS-CBN REMAKE OF "TWILIGHT" A HOAX!

Last December 23, nilabas ni Edgar Cruz ang article about sa remake ng ABS-CBN ng movie na Twilight, and the same time Perez Hilton releases his version of the clamor where everyone were furious about the idea. This morning i received an email from Tito Ed Cruz of Yehey.com regarding the updates on the alleged remake/adaptation of Twilight, with the local title Takipsilip where Rayver Cruz and Shaina Magdayao will be the main cast.

Here is Tito Ed's email as posted on the Entertainment Section of Yehey.com


“Di ko alam ako pala magdi-direct ng ‘Twilight,’” director Cathy Garcia Molina curtly replied when Buzzbox asked her if she is opting for a localized version of the blockbuster vampire novel. The buzz is that ABS-CBN had acquired the rights to the novel for US$1 million and that Cathy has been selected to direct it with Rayver Cruz as Edward Cullen and Shaina Magdayao as Isabella Swan.

Cathy informed Buzzbox her schedule is heavy as she has to finish principal photography and post-production of the John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo starrer “A Very Special Love 2,” Star Cinema’s Valentine offering, before she could work on a new project.

This led Buzzbox to inquire from the talent managers of the actors in the unofficial cast if they have been casted for specific roles. Anjie Ureta, manager of Chin Chin Gutierrez who will do the role of Esme Cullen replied, “As of today we have not received information or inquiry regarding ‘Twilight’ remake for Dos.” Becky Aguila, the manager of Joross Gamboa as Jasper Hale and Empress Schuck as Angela Weber, texted, “Di ko alam. Wala pang sinasabi.” Veronique del Rosario, the manager of Nikki Bacolod as Victoria answered, “Wala pang offer.”

Could this don’t-know approach be a ruse? I got this idea when Carlo Orosa, the manager of Karylle as Rosalie Hale, originally answered “Wala pang official.” When asked for a clarification, replied, “Can’t be revealed yet.” Could it be the whole project is still a top secret and people in the know were asked not to talk about it. This may be similar to the information embargo ordered by ABS-CBN top management for “I Love Betty La Fea” as to the actor who would play the role of Armando. This turned to be John Lloyd Cruz which Buzzbox correctly second-guessed.

There are strong reactions from ‘Twilight” cult fans that a petition for ABS-CBN not to proceed with the project is on-going. The petition centers two issues: ABS-CBN’s lack of ability to do justice to the novel and Rayver not being fit to do the Edward Allen part. Before they do this, they have to find out first if the buzz is for real or a hoax?
Save the effort and hate words, guys! Buzzbox clarified with ABS-CBN Corporate Communication Head Bong Osorio and after checking with ABS-CBN Television Head Cory Vidanes categorically stated: “There is no plan for ABS-CBN to remake ‘Twilight.’”

I hope this might end on the issue and the anger of the twilight fans especially Demai who is my friend who was ranting on the phone for few hours. I remember the issue of gossip girl before that both GMA and ABS-CBN will be doing its version, with the ambitious casts line up, nothing happens, everything was in the imaginative/creative ideas of the fans (more of a fan fiction) but in the end TV 5 created their vesion which is lip gloss.

On the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Punto ko pagtuunang pansin din ang mga bahay na minsan ay naging isang tahanan

Wala nang mas kumplikado pa sa usapin ng Human Rights lalo na ngayong ika - 60th anniversary ng Universal Declaration of Human Rights na ang isang tao ay hindi aware sa kanyang karapatan bilang tao at ang kanyang pagkatao. Nasanay tayo na kapag pinag usapan ang human rights ay lagi tayong step forward pagdating sa pagsagot sa mga issues tulad ng press freedom, racial discrimination, political killings at napakarami pang technical na violation at minsan nalilimutan natin ang ilan sa mga inaakala nating maliliit na bagay ngunit talamak nating nakikita sa lipunan at karaniwang nakukubli na lang sa mga simpleng terminology na "problema sa tahanan".

Hindi ako teknikal na tao at edukado pagdating sa usapin ng human rights, wala akong sapat na impormasyon at detalye kung sa araw araw ay ilan na ang bilang ng mga taong nasagasaan ang kanilang karapatan pangtao. Pero tulad ng issue ng domestic violence ilan nga lang ba ang may lakas ng loob na nagbabalita at nagrereklamo tungkol sa nararanasan nilang kalupitan. Nagsisilbing piping saksi ang dingding at kisame ng bahay sa bawat kalupitang dinadanas ng karaniwang mga ina at mga anak, pisikal man o emosyonal na pananakit ng mga haligi ng tahahan.

At marahil sasabihin ninyo, marami namang non-government organization at mga sangay ng pamahalaan katulad ng Department of Social Welfare and Development, at bakit hindi doon sila magreklamo. Dalawa lang ang sagot diyan, una dahil sa kahihiyan na maaaring maeskandalo sila at mapag usapan ng kanilang mga kabit bahay, at sa paaralan ng kanilang mga anak na siyang iniingatan nila ang mga murang isipan. At pangalawa, dahil sa kawalan ng awareness na kung saan hindi nila alam na may karapatang pangtao na ang nayuyurakan mula pananakit na dinadanas nila.

Simple man maituturing ang domestic violence kumpara sa naglalakihang political killings na hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin nasusulusyunan ang pagkawala o pagkamatay ng mga taong minsan komontra sa pamamalakad sa isa sa mga namumuno ng bansa, hindi rin ito kasing bigat pagdating sa diskriminasyon base sa kulay at lahi na na kung saan nagmumula ang sigalot ng isang bansa kontra sa isa pang bansa. Hindi katulad ng domestic violence ang human trafficking na kung saan ay naihahatid ang issue patungkol sa usapin ng prostitution at molestation. Hindi ganung kalaki kung ituturing ng iba ang domestic violence, pero hindi ba natin iniisip na ang domestic violence ay maaaring siyang puno ng lahat ng mga ito? Ang tahanan ang siyang unang paaralan para sa mga bata, at ang mga unang guro ay ang kanilang mga ama at ina, an gang kanilang unang aral ay ang mga bagay na nagaganap sa loob ng tahanan.

Ang lahat ng ito ay nakikita ng mga bata hanggang sa paglabas niya sa kanyang tahanan papuntang paaralan ay dala niya ito, hanggang sa paglaki, at sa pagbuo ng kanyang pamilya. Inaamin ko walang perpektong pamilya, may hindi pagkakaunawaan sa isa’t isa pero sa kabila nito hindi ba natin kayang i-differentiate ang mga karaniwang problema at sa mga problemang minsan ay may kasama nang pagyurak sa pagkatao at pasang bunga ng pagbubuhat ng kamay? Hahayaan pa ba natin na ang isang tahanan noon ay maging isang simpleng bahay na lamang?

PASAKALYE

Minsan may nagtanong sa akin, bakit ang isang kagaya ko na nagwowork sa entertainment field ay malayang pinapahayag ang aking opinyon patungkol sa karapatan at pagmulat ng lipunan na kalimitan ang mga taong kagaya ko ay hindi ganun sineseryoso dahil ang buhay ko at ng mga kagaya ko ay umiikot sa kislap at glamorosong buhay ng entertainment. Ito lang ang sinabi ko na bawat isa ay may karapatan na ipahayag ang kanilang mga ideya taliwas man o sang ayon sa pangkalahatan, hindi boring pag usapan ang pulitika at mga bagay sa lipunan at hindi rin korni pag usapan ang showbiz at artista. Pero sa huli nagkakapareho lang ang lahat pagdating sa usapin ng karapatan, responsibilidad at pagkataom dahil iba man ang mundong iniikutan natin sa trabaho, sa paaralan, sa rangya ng buhay at sa relihiyon at paniniwala, miyembro ka pa rin ng lipunang ito at tatlo lang ang daan ang makiayon, ang tumaliwas o magsawalang bahala.

Sizzling Hot Saturday Night with Komiks Presents Mars Ravelo’s Dragonna!

In-fire-ness surprise ako noong si Shaina Magdayao ang pinili to play the role of Dragonna, the 4th character among the Ravelos collection na kasama sa Komiks Presents umbrella ng ABS-CBN. Ang una ay si Vhong Navarro bilang si Latikman, pangalawa ay si Jon Avila na gumanap bilang ang tisoy na super hero na si Kapitan Boom. Then si Mariel Rodriguez na gumanap ng mala-Cinderalla story type hero na si Varga at ang malapit nang matapos ng small but terrible na si Tiny Tony na ginampanan ni John Prats.

It’s the first time na gumanap si Shaina Magdayao ng leading role at isang heroine, makakasama niya si show si Jake Cuenca na nakasama na niya noon sa Your Song Presents A Million Miles Away, both show na parehong under sa isang business unit na pinamamahalaan ni Deo Edrinal.

Shaina plays the role of Rona na kung saan iniligtas siya ng tatlong fireman na ginampanan nina Bayani Agbayani, Long Mejia at Arnold Reyes, na kung saan ang back story ay anak siya ditto Jodi Sta. Maria na galling sa lahi ng mga dragon. As the story goes madidiscover ni Shaina ang powers niya everytime na magagalit siya pero ang hindi lang pwedeng mangyari sa kanya ay mainlove kundi manghihina ang kapangyarihan niya.

Kasama ni Shaina sa show na ito ay sina Carlos Agassi, Alex Gonzaga, at Eda Nolan under sa direction ni Dondon Santos starting sa December 13 na back to back with the finale ng Komiks Presents Tiny Tony.

Note: Ito yung first time na lalabas si Shaina na naka sexy outfit at makikita pa natin yung mga iba pang action stunts niya mula sa training niya sa Lobo at Rounin before. Karylle Kapamilya na!

Matapos ang ilang taong pamamalgi ni Karylle sa GMA 7 ay pumirma na siya sa ABS-CBN bilang isang Kapamilya at bagong regular host and performer sa ASAP na mapapanood tuwing linggo ng tanghali at ngayong December 14 ay official na siyang i-we-welcome ng mga kapamilya niya sa ASAP na kakompetensya ng dating show niya sa Kapuso network ang SOP.

Noong December 9 nang pumirma si Karylle sa ABS-CBN sa Executive Board Room sa Main Building ng Kapamilya Network kasama sina Senior Vice President for Entertainment na si Cory Vidades, Business Unit Head Deo Edrinal, Carlo Orosa ang manager ni Karylle sa STAGES at David Cosico ang Personal Manager ni Karylle na siyang lumabas sa www.ABS-CBN.com.

Bago naging official si Karylle as ABS-CBN Artist ay lumabas na siya sa Trade Launch ng ABS-CBN noong November 25 sa SMX Mall of Asia, at sa Dream Match: De La Hoya VS Pacquiao sa MGM Grand Las Vegas, Nevada noong December 7 para kantahin ang Lupang Hinirang. Pero syempre balik kabataan naman ako which di naman nalalayo sa edad ko ngayon :) sana walang magreact di pa naman ako katanda mostly FV team lang ang mga matatanda sa batch ko hehehehe. Well kina Ada, Sabrina, Niel (congrats Kapamilya ka na sa Dec 16), Gab, Jeric, Fjordz, Iris, Azrael and Bigenya salamat sa pag-join sa event na ito, actually first attempt namin ito sa Adprom group, maraming salamat sa support next time kita kita uli sa mga future events at sa mga ibang events at plurkfiesta kita kita tayo.

“Plato Para Kay Ploning”

After the successful “Damit Para Kay Ploning” auction of Judy Ann Santos held recently, another fundraising activity entitled “Plato Para Kay Ploning” will take place on December 3 at the Rockwell Tent.

For those who wish to give support for the movie Ploning to be part of the final list of nominees of the Oscars (Foreign Language Film Category), this would be the best way. Taste a meal prepared by the one and only Judy Ann Santos plus a view of the art exhibit of the finest national and contemporary artists and a star-studded program.

Some of the celebrities who are part of the program are: Martin Nievera, Sarah Geronimo, Aiza Seguerra, Richard Poon, Nina, Ogie Alcasid, Sitti Navarro, Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 scholars and Arnel Pineda.

Since Ploning is in need of a 5-million fund, the government has shown support by giving 2.5 million pesos for the said fundraising event.
