From FHM, to Maxim Philippines, sizzling hot talaga ang summer mo when you see Krista Ranillo daughter of Matt Ranillo III (the one who plays Jesus Christ in the movie)ngayong March sa mga magazine stand. ABS-CBN Launches Your Song Presents Undeage on March 1!

After the engaging story of My Only Hope comes a whole new chapter of Your Song Presents, the remake of the 80's movie ‘Underage’.

Matt Evans and Melissa Ricks were last seen in the teleserye Iisa Pa Lamang with Claudine Barretto and Gabby Concepcion. And now, they are back in the limelight as they star the highly-anticipated TV version of Underage which will start on March 1.
Together with Melissa Ricks and Matt Evans are Empress Shuck, Lauren Young, Valene Montenegro, AJ Perez, Rafael Rosell, William Lorenzo and Sylvia Sanchez who will all give life to important roles in the story.

Since the feel of the original Underage movie is quite sexy, the young stars will be taking on mature roles in their new drama mini-series. However, they clarified that the TV version will not be as sexy as the original film.

"This is different. Magpapakita kami ng konting skin. This is another step na naman. Kung baga inuunti unti na namin 'yung paggawa ng more mature roles. We're kids anymore na rin. We're still teenagers but we're going into the transition of becoming adults na. May ilang 'sensitive scenes' dito kaya 'yun ang pinaghahandaan namin," said Melissa.

Under the direction of Manny Palo, the story will revolve around three young sisters (Melissa, Empress and Lauren) who grew up in the province, about to face a whole new world. Melissa will portray the role of Celina, the most confident among the three siblings. Empress breathes life to the character of Cecilia, the toughest of the three and Lauren plays the role of Corazon, the frail man-hater. As they bump with new people, their real journey begins.

Your Song Presents Underage will be the initial offering of ABS-CBN’s Your Song Presents which will feature the adaptations of some well-loved Pinoy teen flicks from the 80's.

Underage was released by Regal Films in 1980 and was considered to be the launch pad of Dina Bonnevie, Snooky Serna, and Maricel Soriano as young-adult actresses. This was originally directed by Joey Gosiengfiao with story and screenplay by Toto Belano.

11th Asian Cartoon Exhibition

Tulad ng karaniwang linyang “Pictures tells a thousand stories” at para sa mga editorial cartoonist may mas malalim pa itong nais ipahiwatig bukod sa mga opinion section at editorial ng mga news paper gayun din ang mga cartoonist na ang presentation ng kanilang mga artworks is more on social satire.

Same day last February 21, noong nag check ako ng Oscars Photo Exhibit sa Shangrila Plaza I make sure na dadaan din dapat ako sa The Gallery ng SM Megamall to check on paintings at sa activity area ng SM Megamall Atrium sa exhibit or any musical activities meron sa kanila and this time it was the 11th Asian Cartoon Exhibit organized by Japan Foundation, Manila. It’s a collection of cartoons done by editorial and social satire cartoonists from the Philippines (Lyndon Gregorio), Malysia (Tazidi), Bangladesh (Shirshir Bhattacharjee), China (Xia Dachuan), India (Jayanto Banerjee), Indonesia (Benny Rachmadi), Japan (Suo Kohma), Sri Lanka (Dasa Hapuwalanage), Vietnam (Lap) and Thailand (Kosin Srilidtipradit).

The exhibit theme was about the Asian youth culture na kung saan nag-focus ang mga artworks sa epekto ng media sa youth and how technology changes the life ng mga kabataan. Tulad sa mga gawa ni Xia Dachuan sa China pinakita kung paano ang kabataan ngayon ay nag-iisip ng mga short method in terms of learning and work without the appreciation of doing the hard way. For India, Jayanto Banerjee shows how call center work like in the Philippines became sa fad to all as an easy way to have work. For Japan Sri Lanka and Thailand it shows how technology and media affects the every day life of the youth. And with Vietnam, Lap shows the slow death of the oriental culture where the youth adopts the western culture much without balancing it with the Asian tradition.

To be honest everything shown in the exhibit has sense at tatama talaga kung ano ang nangyayari ngayon and maybe it can be an eye opener for the your kung ano na ang kalagayan at estado nila ngayon and maybe through them who sees it can actually do something different.

The exhibit is currently staged on SM Megamall Atrium until the 27th and will be transferred to SM Mall of Asia Main Atrium on the 28th until the 13th of March.

Daan na sa EDSA

Siguradong aware ka kung ano ang EDSA o Epifanio delos Santos Avenue, ito ang karaniwang bina-byahe mo kung papasok at pauwi ka mula sa eskwela, o tabaho. Ito rin ang mahabang kalyeng nagdudugtong sa limang lungsod sa Metro Manila, ang Caloocan, Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Makati at Pasay.

Pero sa mahabang byahe natin nasubukan mo na bang sumulyap sa rebultong nasa pagitan ng Santon Station at Ortigas Station ng MRT? Marahil oo, pero sa panahon ngayon iilan na lang ba ang makakaalala at magsasabing 23 years ago na ang EDSA ay nagsilbing daanan at saksi sa mga taong komontra laban sa batas militar at pagsikil sa karapatang pangtao at karapatan sa pamamahayag ng napatalsik na rihemeng Ferdinand Marcos at ito ay naganap noong February 25, 1986.

Laban ng isang may bahay na humihingi ng katarungan sa yumaong asawa ito ang imahe na ipinakita ni Corazon Aquino ang biyuda ni Ninoy Aquino. Pero sa paningin ng mga taong sumama at nagmartsa sa kahabaan ng EDSA hindi isang simpleng may bahay lamang si Cory, kundi isang inang handang kumalinga sa baying biktima ng kalupitan ng ama ng bayan. At dito ang isang ilaw ng tahanan ay naging ilaw ng bayan, mula sa EDSA Revolution ay naging presidente si Corazon Aquino.

Pero matapos ang 23 years mula sa EDSA Revolution, muling nagbabalik ang pangyayari sa kasaysayan, ang walang pakundangang human rights violation, paghigpit sa kalayaan ng pamamahayag na kung saan nakikita natin sa panukala sa senado na right to reply, at ang katiwalian sa gobyerno. Paulit ulit lang ang nagaganap napapalitan lang ang mga taong gumagawa nito. Muling naulit ang EDSA Revolution ay siyang naging daan upang mapatalsik ang rihemen ni Joseph Ejercito Estrada noong January 2001. Pero ang laging tanong ng karamihan lagi na lang ba tayong babalik sa EDSA upang magprotesta at nag-aklas? Hindi ba dapat maging aral ang EDSA at tagapag-alala sa atin na minsan ay biktima tayo ng pagsikil sa karapatang pantao, katiwalian sa gobyerno at ang pagpigil sa karapatan sa pamamahayag. Minsan na tayong naging biktima, hahayaan pa rin ba natin itong maulit pa uli? Kailangan pa ba ng isang Ninoy na magbubuwis ng buhay para gumising tayo at magbantay sa gobyerno at lipunan. Hindi pag aaklas lamang ang aral na natutunan natin sa EDSA, hindi lang pag-kakaisa at hindi lang ang pagiging palaban, kundi tinuruan din tayo ng EDSA na maging matalino at makabayan. Maging wais sa pagpili ng namumuno sa bayan at ang makabayang hindi ipagpapalit ang prinsipyo kapalit pera para sa nag iisang boto.

Maging aral nawa sa bawat pagdaan natin sa kahabaan ng EDSA ang mga pinaglaban noon ay ipagpatuloy at ipagpapatuloy natin at ng mga darating pang mga darating pa.

Last Saturday, February 21 syempre hindi mawawala sa weekly routine ko ang dumaan muna sa mall para mamili at mag-ikot at ito ang ginawa ko noong nagpunta ako sa Shangrila Plaza sa Pasig where part ng mall nila ay ang exhibit ng art and photo gallery sa 3rd floor lobby beside the furniture boutiques. This time it was photo exhibit by Velvet a cable channel of ABS-CBN with their stars doing some Oscars Best Picture movies. Some of the ABS-CBN stars play the following role:

Tsinelas!!!

Last February 8 ko lang to binuksan it was Cherry's gift to me for Christmas, its a Bench flip flops, I'm a Bench fan ever since, casual wear and not that expensive ang clothing requirements ko kaya sa Bench, Folded and Hung, Oxygen and People lang ang mga clothes ko if I go to work or pag may gimik ako. For flip flops Havaianas and Dupe would be nice kaso to be honest a pair costs a pair of shoes sa Girbaud which the cheapest is 1,000 plus. So I stick with Bench na lang talaga aside it's mura comfortable naman sya and medyo hip naman ang look nya what like Cherry gave me. Thanks Cherry :)

Farmers Daughter tops 2008 Nursing Exam Licensure

Hindi hadlang ang pinanggalingan ni Jovie Ann Alawas Decoyna ng Baguio Central University sa kanyang pangarap lalo na ngayong siya ang naging topnotcher sa 2008 Nursing Exam Licensure na nilabas noong February 18, 2009 ng The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) na kung saan ay may 88,649 na nursing graduate ang kumuha noong November 29-30, 2008 pero mayroon lamang 39,455 ang nakapasa at si Jovie ang nanguna na may score of 89.

Si Jovie ay anak ng isang Farmer at Domestic Helper sa Taiwan, ang bagay na ito ay nagsilbing inspirasyon para sa kanya para manguna sa 2008 Nursing Exam Licensure at ngayon ay nag iisip siya kung tataggapin niya ang offer ng gobyerno o mangingibang bansa siya.

Blogging From Home not for starters only

This was the first time I’ll blog about the book, Blogging From Home by Digital Filipino’s Jannette Toral, it was last November kung saan nakuha ko ang nasabing reference book na ito. Para sa mga hindi ganap na professional sa pagblo-blog kagaya ko ay malaking tulong ito, may mga exercises that will guide the readers especially the bloggers who are just starting pa lang. There are forms para malaman mo ang path na gusto mong tahakin sa pagblo-blog mo.

Hindi rin mawawala ang mga sample blogs na kung saan we can get inspirations and also ideas kung ano bang tema ang gusto nating gawin, like mine it’s a mixed bag blog na kung saan I can discuss everything on my blog especially opinions and personal thoughts sa mga bagay bagay.

But the book is not for starters lang pero pwede rin sa mga pro bloggers. Dahil hindi naman constant ang World Wide Web especially tha it is in its perpetual evolution at maraming nangyayari at mga add ons na bigla na lang lumalabas especially in terms of search engine optimization, social networks and monetizing strategies.

Hindi PANGIT ang Nobelang ito

Inaamin ko bukod sa pagiging fans ko ng soap opera ay nagawa ko ring magbasa ng mga komiks at mga love novels na kung saan karaniwang binabasa ni nanay na syempre hindi mo kailangan ng complex imagination para ma-interpret mo ang nilalaman, ika nga ito ang literal na pampalipas oras.

It was last January 13, 2009 nang nakita naming itong book na ito sa National Bookstore sa novel section kasama ang iba pang mga Pinoy Romance Novels, to be honest na curious ako sa novel na ito it reminds me of Hiram na Mukha and Bakekang, and still I have second thoughts of buying the book and will let you know what’s all about. :)

MRT extension project

Sa mga kagaya kong nanggagaling sa north at nagtratrabaho sa Quezon City or papunta pang south siguradong hindi ninyo mami-miss ang traffic papasok man o pauwi dahil sa construction na nagaganap sa gitna ng EDSA dahil ito ay ginagawa na ang extension ng MRT hanggang Monumento para madikit sa LRT Monumento Station katulad nang sa banding Taft Avenue na kung saan magkadikit ang LRT at MRT.

Sigurado pag nagawa ito mas mapapadali ang byahe ng mga tao papunta sa kanilang mga paaralan at opisina pero ang isa lang problema ay hihina naman ang kita ng mga public transportation na nakasanayan nating sakyan ang bus, jeep, at taxi na ang rutang dinadaanan ay mula monumento papuntang EDSA.

Pero di lahat ay mag-agree sa sinabi dahil ang karaniwang rason ng iba e ang nakaka-nose bleed na globalization kasama na ang mga sanga sanga nito.

My TV Appearance

Working in a media company for almost 5 years (please don't compute my age bata pa ako)I enjoy the life na nasa likod ng camera to be honest I'm not that looking naman kasi, and I enjoy it kasi I can wear anything I want including my I am Ninoy Shirts and other statement shirts not to mention may PBB, Betty and Fear Factor that my company gave me. The images above was screen grabbed from TV Patrol World with Inah Reformina, Bong Osorio (the one I mention in my blog about the Takipsilim thing) and Nap my co-worker it was taken in Mandarin Hotel in Gateway last February 11. It's about the conference of TNS TVPanel launch dito sa Pilipinas. I personally met Gary de Ocampo and Gabriel Buluran both Pinoys working sa TNS and Philip Jones, Regional Director for TNS South East Asia.

It's not my first to appear on TV with my colleagues at work pero I'm not a fan of it mas enjoy ako working behind the camera and doing more of the dirty works.

RED day for me!

I was not expecting last Sunday (February 8, 2009) na tatanggap ako ng not just one, not just two (glasses hehehe) but four Red Mobile Sim Pack. Ok sana na mayroon na 4 sim card ng Red Mobile pero may isa akong problem and that is hindi pa ganun ka-OK ang signal sa area ko that's why hindi ko pa magamit ito unless if I go to work sa Quezon City doon malakas ang signal ng Red Mobile same with other networks.

Bugoy Drilon, no.1 sa puso ng marami!

Malayo na ang narating ng tinaguriang “the farmer’s son” na si Bugoy Drilon. Mula sa pagiging sanitation worker sa kanyang paaralan sa Bicol, hanggang sa maging 2nd Star Dreamer sa Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2, isa na ngayon si Bugoy sa mga freshest artists ng Star Records dahil sa kamakailan ay inilabas na ang kanyang first solo album na may album title na ‘Bugoy: Paano Na Kaya?’ .

Lumabas man na pangalawa sa Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2, pinatunayan pa rin niyang kaya niyang maging number 1 sa puso ng nakararami. Sa katunayan, ang kanyang unang hit song na ‘Paano Na Kaya’ na isinulat ni Mr. Ryan Cayabyab ay consistent number 1 at na-nominate pa bilang Song Of The Year sa kanyang mga targeted radio stations nationwide. Ang kanyang carrier single para sa kanyang bagong album na “Muli” ay patuloy na umaangat sa hit chart at hindi na malayong maging numero uno rin ito.

Kasama sa album ni Bugoy ang kanyang kauna-unahang hit song na ‘Paano Na Kaya’ (Ryan Cayabyab). Ang ilan pang tracks na kasama ay ang Kung Pwede Lang Sana (Vehnee Saturno), Muli (Vehnee Saturno), Bakit Ba (Jonathan Manalo), Simulan Mo Isang Pangarap (Ryan Cayabyab) at Lahat Ng Yan (Vehnee Saturno).
Pinalalabas na rin sa Myx ang mga music video ni Bugoy back to back sa ABS-CBN bago mag-sign off ang station.

Pinarangalan bilang Most Promising Male Performer of Asian Entertainment Awards 2008, Utang umano ni Bugoy ang kanyang tagumpay sa kanyang mga taga-supporta at avid followers kaya naman todo todo ang pasasalamat nito.

“Taos puso po akong nagpapasalamat sa kanila sa pag-suporta nila sa akin. Hindi lang po ‘yong una kong kanta, pati po ‘yong pangalawa kong kanta magiging No. 1 na din po. Kaya maraming salamat sa paniniwala nila sa talento ko,” pahayag niya.

Ipagdiwang ang Valentine’s day ng mas maaga at samahan sina Bugoy, Laarni at iba pang PDA scholars sa kanilang pre-Valentine show na gaganapin sa February 13 sa Ratsky (Morato). Magkakaroon rin ng mall show si Bugoy sa SM Clark on Sunday, February 8 and at SM Sta. Rosa on February 22.
