Hongkong Magazine, SORRY is not enough!

Bookmark and Share

At sino ba ang hindi makakalimot sa mala-teleseryeng eksena ni Boyet Fernandez noong pinaluhod niya at pinagmumura ang mga ilang mga trabahador sa duty free kasama ang linyang "You Don't Know Me!", yes I don't know him and I would not bother knowing him matapos ng ginawa nya.

Ngayon mula sa Hongkong naman na nagkulo sa mga dugo at nagpataas ng presyon ng mga Pinoy ang pagtawag ng manunulat ng Hongkong Magazine na si Tsip Tsao na land of servants o lupain ng mga alipin ang Pilipinas, yes HK Magazine apologizes but its not worth the publisher says they acknowledge the presence and contributions of the Filipinos to Hongkong, and if they really does why approve and publish such racist article in their magazine, do they have editorial board in the first place unless they don't event think about it that's why they publish that malicious column.

Yes there is a thing we call freedom of speech but we should know that it requires responsibility and respect. Only ignorant chauvinist pig doesn’t know that.

ABS-CBN’s statement on Manny Pacquiao’s March 27 statement

Bookmark and Share

Source: http://www.abs-cbn.com/Feature/Article/2924/ABS-CBN-s-statement-on-Manny-Pacquiao-s-March-27-statement.aspx

ABS-CBN releases another statement to answer Manny Pacquiao’s recent announcements through his lawyer Atty. Gacal.

ABS-CBN has said everything it will say on this topic. Please refer to our earlier statements.

Here are the facts:

March 14, 2009 - Manny Pacquiao recorded a statement that he asked be embargoed. That statement has never aired.

March 17, 2009 - Pacquiao recorded another statement saying that he came to ABS-CBN to air his next fights. He later approved that statement for airing, and our newscasts aired it on Wednesday, March 18.

March 19, 2009 - In an interview while training, he asked viewers to support him and watch his fight on ABS-CBN.

March 20, 2009 - Pacquiao again declared in an ABS-CBN interview that "my decision [is] still the same. Fight mapapanood sa ABS-CBN."

March 20, 2009 - ABS-CBN said, “We understand GMA7's disappointment about the decision of Manny Pacquiao to have ABS-CBN as its media partner, but it should avoid making thinly veiled accusations based on a columnist's speculation. It alleges that ABS-CBN's supremacy in reach is to be used for Manny Pacquiao's political plans—which is not true.”

March 21, 2009 - ABS-CBN released another statement: “Manny Pacquiao approached ABS-CBN to be his media partner in airing his next fights. We thank him for trusting us. He signed a contract with us, but we will not stand in the way if he decides to change his mind. We respect it, wish him good luck, and we wait to hear from him.”

March 22, 2009 - ABS-CBN reacts to Pacquiao’s accusations of violating an embargo on his video: “When Manny Pacquiao came to us to air his fights, we were happy. We accept that he has changed his mind. And even if he signed a contract with us, we welcome a resolution and wish him well on his fight.

We respond because this charge strikes at our core values as a news organization: honest reporting and respect for our sources. Regardless, we continue to report on Manny Pacquiao's activities and respect his decision to enter into any arrangement with any company regarding his fights.”

March 24, 2009 - Statement of ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio Lopez III was aired on “TV Patrol World”: “Suportahan na lang natin si Manny. He is a very good boxer and after all, he is a Filipino hero. He brings a lot of pride and joy to all of us Filipinos. Si Manny ang nag-approach sa atin. Hindi tayo ang nagkuha sa kanya. He approached us. He wanted to move to ABS-CBN for obvious reasons. Ang promotion, ang reach ng ABS ay far better than anything he has seen in GMA in the last year. That is the true reason why he wanted to move. He rescinded his contract. He decided to join us. Nagkagulo. Ang masasabi ko lang, we acted in an ethical manner. We did not violate any restrictions in the embargo. There is no deal on the politics. Now he has decided to go back to GMA, suportahan na lang natin siya and wish him well.”

ABS-CBN’s airing of Manny Pacquiao’s fights will not violate his contract with GMA, which prohibits Pacquiao from appearing on “any television program, show, promotion or event of any other broadcast media entity.” Manny’s fights are not programs, shows, promotion, or events of ABS-CBN. As the media partner of Manny Pacquiao, the Kapamilya network will only be airing Pacquiao’s boxing matches that will produced by Top Rank.

We also believe that there is no basis for Solar Entertainment Corporation to take legal action. ABS-CBN did not violate Solar’s rights. Pacquiao rescinded his contract with Solar before he approached ABS-CBN to be his media partner. We merely welcomed him as a Kapamilya.

Star Cinema releases official statement on Sarah Geronimo's talent fee

Bookmark and Share

Source: http://www.abs-cbn.com/Feature/Article/2881/Star-Cinema-releases-official-statement-on-Sarah-Geronimo-s-talent-fee.aspx

STAR CINEMA OFFICIAL STATEMENT:

Star Cinema would like to clarify the issue on the talent fee received by Sarah Geronimo for the movies, “A Very Special Love” and “You Changed My Life”.

Sarah is a Contractual Talent of Viva Films, a co-producer for the aforementioned Star Cinema projects. Her professional arrangement is similar to that of Anne Curtis for her “When Love Begins” and “Wag Kang Lilingon” projects. Sarah’s and Anne’s talent fees for their individual movies were upon the recommendation of Viva Films. In Sarah’s case, Star Cinema simply adhered to and implemented her contractual agreement with Viva Films.

We honor Sarah Geronimo and Viva Films’ Talent-Manager relationship. Viva takes care of her talent fees and Star Cinema has nothing to do with it.

Lorna Tolentino shares HOPE with the Wings of the Soul Album

Bookmark and Share

Jinggoy Estrada, Sen. Bong Revilla, and Philip Salvador (Doon Lang), Christopher De Leon, Bobot Mortiz and Ricky Davao (Stand By Me featuring Bodie Cruz), Aga Muhlach (Let it Be), Gary Valenciano (Ikaw Lamang), Piolo Pascual (I’ll Be There For You/I will Be here) and Jamie Rivera (My Life Is In Your Hands) ay ginawa ang album na ito for the love of Lorna at Rudy Fernandez kaya naman hindi sila nagpabayad para sa project na ito.

Social Networking and e-Business Conference 2009

Bookmark and Share

Before, Social Networking is known as connection of nodes and ties, nodes is the actor (individual or organizations) and ties as the process or reaching one nodes to another nodes, or simply we call it relationship. The age of online and mobile technology or simple e-Business and Web 2.0 we see the concept of nodes and ties as the producer (nodes) reaching or connecting (ties) to its consumers (another nodes) and returns its feedback or queries to consumers in process of “tie” concept.

The idea of social networking before might be simple, but on this age it shows more of what the producers can generate and produce that will satisfy the consumers for a faster feedback that leads to strong business relationship. And that’s the idea that Fiera de Manila, Inc. and DigitalFilipino Club will be presenting on this year’s Social Networking and eBusiness Conference Philippines 2009 at the Hotel Intercontinental, Ayala Avenue, Makati City on April 23 and 24, 2009. The collaborations of mobile and online geniuses in a two day seminar that will discuss the notions of value added services and alternative advertising for mobile, user generated content, web applications and marketing strategies for online, and data privacy and search engine optimization in the arena of social networking.

The 2 day event (Social Networking and eBusiness Conference Philippines 2009) will be a crash course of different concept for both online and mobile strategies that social networking bloggers, consumer relation management officers and heads, media and content buyers/ producers, online and mobile adsales will be gaining a lot to on the event which I’ll be having if I’ll be granted with invitation.

Here are the online and mobile gurus that is included at the roster Social Networking and eBusiness Conference Philippines 2009 speakers: Paolo Pineda, BizDev of ABS-CBN who ties up with Multiply a social network service that is popular with user generated content for videos, photos and data hosting aside from simply blogging service (News Flash! Paolo Pineda who was the first assigned to to talk was replaced by Crisela Cervantes, ABS-CBN Interactive's Head for Consumer Relations). Jim Ayson, Product Manager of Value Added Services of Smart Telecom one of the leading mobile network service in the country. Jane Walker, CEO of Level Up Games who aside will be discussing the craze on online gaming will be also discussing advergames or advertising on online gaming platform. Adrian Lee of AsiaPay, he’ll be discussing on the monetizing online and mobile applications that we have seen in the birth of iPhone. And lastly Janet Torral the founder of Digital Filipino Club, and author of books like Blogging From Home, Philippine Net Interview, The Digital Filipino: E-commerce Workshop, The Digital Filipino: An E-commerce Guide for the eFilipino Book and other references and research on Internet Banking and Shopping Internet and Mobile users and statistics, and IT Manpower and Outsourcing. She will be discussing the best practices and strategies of what everyone would love unveil its secrets… search engine optimization, or simply being top of the list in all search engines and how we can benefit from it.

Overwhelmed with the Social Networking and eBusiness Conference Philippines 2009 line up? Same here, that’s why I would love to be there and learn from the experts of mobile, online and social networking that will happen at the Hotel Intercontinental Makati City on April 23 and 24, 2009.

The rise of the Generic Pharmacy

Bookmark and Share

And it was last year that it was my first time to see a generic pharmacy na kung saan they’re selling generic medicines na kung saan abot kaya talaga that will really help those who doesn’t have enough money to afford branded medicines. Most of the vitamins ranges from 1.20-3.00 per tablets or capsules, while antibiotics and paracetamol (analgesic and anti pyretic medicines) has .50 per tablets as starting amount.

My blog entry may look that I am promoting this alternative pharmacy, maaaring oo o hindi pero ang punto ko dito, I see that Generic Pharmacy might help those patients who can’t afford branded medicines that the doctor assigned to them, kaysa naman hayaan natin silang magkasakit lalo, let’s have them alternatives na makakatulong sa kanila. I don’t want to argue with which is better branded or not, my point here is that we have alternatives that is kaya ng budget natin kaysa naman mamalipit tayo sa sakit dahil wala tayong pambili ng mahal na gamot. Please lang I had enough of the issues that was raise before in my blog entry on the topic of Cheap Medicine Bill:
Cheaper Medicine Bill: Nakakagamot o Nakakalala pa sa kalagayan ng bansa?

From facial care, to whitening tablets, to laundry powder, and other advocacy everyone is on TV and Radio na, not to mention their billboards in EDSA and major tabloids and broadsheets, but then they’re not satisfied, from official website they utilize social networking sites where their most possible voters and especially first time voters can be found and the cost of this campaign --- its free.

But the understand more of this from how politicians utilize media platforms to get the attention and support of their prospect voters, pag aralan din natin kung ano ang influence ng media sa mga voting attitude ng mga tao especially mga Filipino and the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication Research Department offers 3 hour seminar on the possible impact of media to 2010 elections entitled “IMPRESS10N: The Impact of media presence to 2010 Elections” on March 14, 2009 from 9 am to 12 noon at the CMC Media center at the Plaridel Hall visit their Multiply site http://11thderp.multiply.com.

Syempre after learning the effect of media to the 2010 election, we should know also na almost half of the voting population ay ang kabataan, like what Jose Rizal said “Ang Kabataan ang Pag asa ng Bayan”, kung nakita natin ang uprise ng kabataan sa panahon ng EDSA Revolution na nag overthrow sa martial law at former president Ferdinand Marcos, ay parehong uri pa rin bang kabataan sa panahon ngayon na busy sa social networking stuff and gadgets. Sa 2010 election ano nga ba ang pulso ng kabataan, how will the youth vote, will it be a collective decision or it depends on who are they following as fans in their Facebook account or even in Friendster. That’s there will be a YouthVote for Social Change: An Assembly of Youth Organizations event on March 14, 2009 from 2 PM to 5 PM at the The Law Theater, UP College of Law, UP Diliman for details email yvotephilippines@gmail.com

There is no harm on joining this kind of event actually we learn more from this one, don’t say that its just a politic thing again and election season again, just a reminder one vote can really make a change a lot. So do your part, not just being aware and take action and make a change.

ABS-CBN's OFFICIAL STATEMENT MMK “BLUSA” ISSUE

Bookmark and Share

Storytelling in Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) is always based on narratives sent to the program by people who want to share their stories. MMK decides to go into production of the chosen stories, ONLY after the letter sender has signed a waiver attesting to the authenticity of the story sent.

MMK recognizes that a number of UPLB alumni are questioning the truthfulness of one letter sender who claims that her sister, the main character in “Blusa” essayed by Ms. Angel Locsin, was indeed a UPLB BS AgriBusiness, summa cum laude graduate, who could not find a job and ended up as a stripper.

When MMK found out about the adverse reactions, the MMK production group went back to the letter sender to inform her of the issue raised and to re-verify her account. She reiterated that she stands by her story.

Be that as it may, and after careful deliberation, MMK realizes that its writing and research pool may have been remiss in one thing----verifying with UPLB the veracity of the indicated facts of the letter sender. Having said that, MMK sincerely apologizes for the oversight.

MMK always aims for truth and excellence. This incident may have deviated from its tight norm, but rest assured that MMK will continue to serve its publics with utmost care and respect.

SM Marikina: WIFI Spot ----- SPOTTED!

Bookmark and Share

Image courtesy of Wikipedia: SM Marikina

Ito yung first time ko na sumama sa isang blogger's event with some of my friends, Azrael, Ada, Sire, Car, Fjordz, Monch, Iris, Jonel and Monique. The event is about wifi testing sa SM Marikina from 2-5opm last February 28. Of course bloggers flocks the area to check the usability of this testing na ginawa ng SM Marikina and what can I say the wifi connection is stable especially sa 3rd Floor and sa Cyberzone Area.

It would be nice that SM Marikina will fully launch this feature sa mall nila and same with other SM Malls which it will attract more poeple not only shoppers but also bloggers and some business transaction like over the coffee meetings and others that requires access to the net.

And I'm sure after the last week's wifi testing, SM Marikina will be one of the tambayan na ng mga bloggers who is living near the area. :)
